Pregnancy Pilates

 

Our studio classes are perfect for any stage of pregnancy (pre-natal and post- natal).  Studio classes are one hour sessions that are run as a very small group (max four participants) classes.  The classes are tailored towards your pregnancy needs.   Everybody is different during their pregnancy and sometimes you need a very modified exercise routine.  This may be because of ongoing morning sickness (aka all day sickness!), growing pains, ever changing energy levels and other issues that come up each trimester.  The classes will also focus on your deep abdominal strength, which helps support the weight of the baby and prevent diastasis recti (abdominal separation).   You’ll improve your connection with the pelvic floor muscles which helps to prevent incontinence.  You’ll be given different exercises at each stage of your pregnancy to help your body transition.

At Embody Pilates we definitely understand the ever changing body and how each class may need to be different.  By constantly adapting, you will be able to maintain a consistency with exercise throughout pregnancy, which will help you stay strong and recover well post birth.
